I had EAD from Aug 2007 to July 2008 which i never used. Now i would like to get EAD again. Should i file it as renewal or applying for a new one? TIA

I don't know about F/P notice, but for sure it can not be RFE
i believe pre-adjudication does not even show on the status.

Folks,
My wife needs an EAD to apply for medical residency in the US. We have our EAD application pending (receipt date Aug 27th). We know we will get our EAD eventually. But the problem is more complex.
For medical residency, programs call candidates for interviews in Nov/Dec. So they start offering interview slots in Sep/Oct timeframe. If you don't have an EAD card or EAD-approval notice, they will not even consider you. They don't care if you say that EAD will definitely come by Dec (or something like that).
We tried our local congressman, but even he said he couldn't do anything
until the 90-day processing time had passed. We tried the local INFOPASS office and submitted an expedite request, but that got denied.
So we are urgently looking for ways to get my wife's EAD ASAP. If we don't get the EAD in time, my wife will lose an year and in medical residency, every year you sit at home counts (against you).
Does anyone here have any ideas what we can do ! Note: This EAD is needed for *education* purposes and not for *gainful* employment.

Just reply on a separate piece of paper explaining the relevant details, as asked. Thats what we did. Can't remember details now but things like "I-485 was applied in so and so month as a dependent in so and so month." Some information about the primary, relation to primary and such. You can add the A number (we didn't have it at that time).

I have recently filled the USCIS survey. But I am not satisfied with all the questions they have. I want to tell what we want to tell (not what they want to hear)
I have an idea to send USCIS director information about how they are doing ? (In terms of delays, consistency, customer service, implementation, transparency). This will not cost any dime to anybody and at the same time make an impact.
Step One:
One of us can first create a survey on survery monkey (detailed one..with complete description about various aspects of USCIS) . I have created a Draft of the questions which can go in the survey. You can add more (Please do not delete the existing ones).
The real survey can contain scale of measurement (1 to 10) and also descriptive comments. I can keep the draft open for 10 days before creating/publishing the real survey so that everybody can contribute to creating it. Here is the link to the draft (feel free to add more questions which are to the point and can make an impact)

I am in strange situation. I am in 7th year of H1B and I have applied for H1B extension which was expiring on April 4th through my company on Feb 14th through normal processing. I have the LIN number from receipt notice. I was never able to check the status online as the LIN number was not found and when attorney called USCIS regarding this on March 23rd, We were told that the information will be updated to see the status online. Our attorney did not follow up with USCIS since then. Our attorney followed up again just today and found that an RFE was sent on March 25th which was never received by attorney. Currently we do not know what exactly is requested in the RFE or dead line for the response. RFE was requested again today from USCIS and was told that will be received in around 30 days. Do you think new dead line will be given for the RFE as the initial deadline might have passed for the initial RFE. I am not sure what to do at this point if I am in status or not. I filed my 485 in June 07 ad hd my FP on 7th September, 07. I read on some of the threads that we would be geting notices for additional finger printing after 15 months or so. I havent received any yet. Should I be proactive an request for one? Will my EAD finger printng count towards the requirement? ( I had given my biometrics formy EAD last April i.e 08 April ). Is this the reason why I did not get the FP notice? Any one in my boat?
Please advise.

I asked my company attoreny about this.. he said that immigration petition is I-140 and as I-140 is not filed for your wife (I-485 is already filed for my wife) so I should say No there for my wife's form.
You are right , I just got the same information from my employer and the attorney that I-140 is the visa petition and not the I-485.So for H4 dependents the answer should be "NO"
