I think we should not mention the bellow point in the letter which we are going send to the president.
Implement the existing interim rule to allow issuance of multi-year Employment Authorization Documents (EAD) and Advance Parole.
According to Mr. Aytes, USCIS is already working on it. Why to mention it in the letter?
That will rather give anti-skill-immigration crying babies one more thing to cry about.
Now what? Under the new filing fee schedule which took effect after July 29, 2007, issuance of EAD and Advance Parole for the post August 27, 2007 is "free, free, free" for the I-485 filers. Allegedly, the cost is incorporated in the I-485 filing fee of $1,020. The new regulation uses the term of "fee waiver" for EAD and Advance Parole for these I-485 filers. Now, you guessed it! Lo and Behold, the business calculation on EAD and Advance Parole has reversed. The DHS will lose a huge money by issuing single-year EAD and a separate Advance Prole document on a yearly basis over and over since they are free and they will have to keep producing it at no charge every year, which creates a huge workloads consuming its huge human resources and other production costs. This is particularly unacceptable to the agency under the predicted State Department Visa Bulletin for FY 2008 and in the future. Now, from the business standpoint, the DHS may make a huge money by issuing a multi-year EAD which will also function as a travel document. Ahah! No wonder why they are finally coming forward revealing their hidden agenda behind the new fee rule-making and EAD/Advance Parole reform business. Reportedly, Mr. Aytes of USCIS disclosed in a New York AILA conference that the USCIS was currently working on a single multi-year EAD card that will also replace the Advance Parole document. Hi,
I do not have medical records to prove that I have taken some of the vaccination that is mandatory for the medical test. However, I do have taken those and my Doctor back in India has those records. Is there a way people know that these records in "any format" / a "specific format" can be faxed or fedexed here and can be used?
Any help will be highly apprciated.

I am tired of short term projects and I started my FT job search in March first week, got 2 offers, both companies are fine with EAD. Only question HR asked me is, "your EAD expires in Sept,when are you starting the renewal process?" I told her that I can apply for renewal only within 90-120 days time frame. She was fine with my answer and also mentioned that she is aware of the fact there is some time line for EAD renewal.
I'll be starting my new FT job from Monday.
So bottom line is there are some HR people who are well aware of EAD and the strings attached to it. You are definitely going to meet them sooner or later, don't loose hope.
BTW why am I using AC21? - my PD is March 2006 (EB3 India), so I decided to use AC-21/EAD, as nobody knows how long this GC journey is? I am already in my 8th year of H1.

Congress has begun a 10-day recess. The House and Senate are scheduled to return the week of February 27. When they return, the Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to take up comprehensive immigration reform, probably beginning March 2. On March 27 this bill will be brought to the floor of the Senate.
www.immigration-law.com also posted information about Comprehensive bill suggesting that on 02/16/2006, the Executive Business Meeting of the Senate Judiciary marked up the Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill. We have not yet found the mark up document. If anybody is able to find this document, please post let everybody know.
There are two pieces of Innovation/Competitiveness bills that are being considered:
1.) Protecting America’s Competitive Edge Acts (PACE)
This act is based on Augustine report. This act is sponsored by Domenici-Bingaman-Alexander-Mikulski. There are 60 Senators who have endorsed this act. This act is being supported by Craig Barrett and other hi-tech industry leaders. The link below provides the summary. Section 314 of the education part of this act contains some of the provisions for Employment based immigration.

2.) National Innovation Act (NIA) of 2005

Could not find much on employment based immigration other than the fact that this act is asking for $1 Million to conduct a study to find out the right numbers of legal plus employment based immigration. So this looks like a long shot.

Just that they provide slightly different solution to the situation where PACE provides for additional funding and slightly more aggressive than NIA. In my 10 year stay in the US, I have traveled through UK only once and I had promised to myself I will never fly through UK again. Apart from the Transit visa hassel, they do not allow you to carry a laptop in addition to your carry-on. Even if the airline allows you to carry laptop in addition to a carry-on, the obnoxious UK airport authority will force you to pack your laptop inside your carry-on.

Just my 2 cents... Don't think USA is like India where you can do something forcefully. Why don't you guys understand the real problem of USCIS.
Do you think that by sending flower to USCIS will force them to make EB2/EB3 current for 2005/2006/2007 guys??
Please try to understand their problem.
Also India is the great. Why don't you guys just think that India is your home country where you are born and brought up. Why you people can't just wait and watch?? If nothing happens to the so called GC, then why don't you think to pack up and go back to India???????

Did any one send a streamline email to NSC and did any get a better response then the "automatic script" response that you get from NSC?
If you did get a positive response then can you share on what exactly you had in the content of the email?

As far as my knowledge goes, there is no streamline email for NSC. We did send emails to NSCSfollowup and SCOPPSCAT .. and got standard script response for both.

Flying through Asian Countires is not an option for people residing in East Coast. I am travelling to India in the next week Via Amsterdam. I am told by the consulate that we do not need Transit Visas. My H1B Visa is expired and I am travelling on AP. Did any one hear differently?

I agree that there is no silver bullet in any analysis. It is a number crunching game.. What is important is follow-up after analysis, which is only possible with IV.

Just curious.... When do they do the name check? Is it after the fingerprints are complete??
I just spoke to a USCIS rep who was very helpful. She took the A# of mine and my wife's and verified the status of FBI name check and FP check. My name check is pending with FBI and my wife's was cleared as per her. For both of us the FP check is cleared.
When I asked her when my name check was initiated I was told that it was on Aug 1st 2007. This is approximately 1 week after my 485 notice date. My FP was done on Aug 21st 2007.
