I am talking about a person (like 485mbe - the one who has posted next to yr post) who has a PD of 2001 ..I am not saying that they should give Eb2's quota to EB3 ..but they should try to pull the category that is worst affected..or atleast give EB3 something ..
my question to you is ..say in the year 2010, would u support a situation where all categories are current or at 1 year difference ...while a particular category (eb3 I in this case) is at 2001 ??.. even if you do ..my feeling is that USCIS will try to pull EB3 - I (if something like above happens)..but then they are just a govt agency ..and in the end they are similar to govt agency in India ..only difference is that maybe little better

See, again, you are looking at it from the immigrant's point of view. Look at it from America's point of view. Immigration isn't like charity. America isn't in the business of helping immigrants, it is in the business of helping itself. The fact is that it is a matter of irrelevance to the US whether it is EB2 or EB3 that is retrogressed. It is only interested in retaining the best labor force in the world. EB1 and EB2 happen to be the best, at least on paper, therefore they are the chosen ones. The moment the US gets more self sufficient in so-called "high skilled professionals", it will make the green card opening narrower, perhaps even get rid of the EB3 category altogether. And would that be fair or just? Yes. Why? Because America is looking out for its own interests, not that of the immigrants. It's what every government does and should do.

Thank you WaldenPOd. I am a pharmacist and I am always extremely bz with my work and two kids. but my wife is actively participating in this effort. She has already posted flyers in Indian store and restaurant. I will ask her to post it in Chinese and other store.
She is actively sending email to friends and relatives to join IV. Also, we are planing to visit universities around our area during this weekend and post flyers

even if IOs dont know and even if they reject it, we can at least enforce it through MTR, courts etc if they ever walk into this grey area and actually decide to deny the case based on non-intent to undertake permanent employment... right?

Movie business is controlled in India by few families,what ever the movies they make rest of the people will watch it.I dont want to open the bollywood can of worms.Movie directors in India are usually sons of Bollywood actors or some one related to Bollywood.

That's not correct. Such frequent reentry after exit will certainly lead to suspicion by an Immigration office at PoE. In fact the intent of 10 year visitor visa is not 10 years of permanent residence. If there is no convincing reason for such frequent reentry you are mostly likely looking at serious interrogation or deportation at the airport. There is no substitute for a GC for your parents if you want them to be with you permanently in the US. Visitor visa has a specific purpose and intent, abusing it could put your folks serious trouble. The other issue with such long term stay on Visitor Visa is - medical insurance - unfortunately there is no good, reliable and comprehensive medical insurance that covers elderly visitors on short trip.

Yes, Its the same number, but at one of the prompts, you need to put a different number for LIN.
I just call them, was told that they have no additional information that what is available on the recorded message or the USCIS case status web site. I said I wanted to know if the case is 'pre-adjudicated' and the lady mentioned that that information is not disclosed. ;(

Hello,
I am new to this site and had a question about the Nov. bulletin that maybe someone might be able to answer. I am EB3 ROW and I am still not able to submit my I-140 + I-485 concurrently by 5 days (my PD is July 5, 2002).
Do you expect the EB3 ROW dates to move forward at all in the Dec. bulletin?
I just need to know because my lawyer is pressuring me to submit my I-140 not concurrently, but I wondered if I just should wait for a month.

Well my story isn't really as bad some of the stories described here but the last 4 years of waiting for the freaking LC to clear has pretty much screwed up my wife's career. There have been days of utter frustration, fight and bad days for us because of the "dependent" visa.
Its not like my job is great either. I am stuck in the same position for the last 5 years because of the freaking labor certification. Looks like I will be stuck for another couple of years. If I bail out now and leave for India it will be hard to find a suitable position because I have been unable to move up because of GC and at the same time my wife will have the impossible task of finding a job after 4 years of unemployment.
For this reason I am wiling to gamble at least another year or two, so that my wife can work and I can get a better job and then we can start thinking about where we really want to settle :) Gosh, never knew trying to settle in US with a GC will be so unsettling :(

That may be the unofficial version. Officially you can apply even you haven't worked or studied in Canada if you qualify as a skilled worker with a year of experience. You get extra points for having a job offer from a Canadian employer but not having one does not disqualify you automatically. I'm not talking about getting the GC. I'm just talking about the application process. Some kind of processing is needed even to reject an application and I do not think USCIS is capable of handling the increased traffic that switching to a point based system would result in.

Can somebody answer this question of mine please.
If you are efiling it will automatically assign you the service center that you should be filing to. Better shoot for that to avoid any issues.
